| You and Me |
| The first time our lips met, We were young and out for fun. You made me smile and laugh And saw something endearing in me. Like most middle school romances, It didn't last past the summer. We moved on, but stayed friends, Drawing closer through senior year. That year was special -- Our class party, prom, and graduation. Our friendship grew stronger. We should have known, but didn't. After graduation, fearing loosing touch, We spent great times together. It took a movie and my mom To show us how much we cared. We had a wonderful week But you had to leave. Four months apart is hard And I regret my mistakes. You came home, so changed. I wasn't ready for that. I needed some time And my best friend back. We hung out again And I found my best friend. It didn't take long Until I knew I wanted you. Our first date, this time, Was country line dancing. You kissed me, And I knew that we were special. Since then, our love has grown. We have changed, and shared much. I can't imagine life without you And see no reason to. -- Shelley Bush |
