| Once upon a time, there was a little girl who never felt pretty
because she had very low self-esteem. One day, she decided to venture out into the forest on a quest to find a prettier girl than herself and encountered a fairy princess. Upon meeting the fairy, the girl explained the reason behind her journey. The fairy princess said, "Your search is over. In this box you will find the prettiest girl in the world." The girl was delighted to end her search, because she was very tired. Still, out of curiosity, she opened the box. In it was a mirror. The girl was somewhat confused, so she asked the fairy about this. "My dear," the fairy answered, "Every girl is the prettiest and every boy is the handsomest. You, however are unlike some girls in that you are not self-absorbed in your beauty. While outer beauty fades, your inner-beauty will last a lifetime. Remember that, but in case you forget, open the box and as long as you stay true to yourself, you will see a special glow on your face." As the girl thanked the fairy, she made herself a promise that one day she would pass on the box as an inheritance for future little girls who may also suffer from self-esteem. As for herself, she didn't look in the box much. She didn't need to... |
