Only Writers Get It

by

Susan Marie Davniero

I sit down to write and ask where to begin the paper trail on the journey of my life. I take the trip to find my voice as a writer. I begin.

With the tilt of the written word I can talk to anyone as I speak my mind. They donít know me, yet by way of writing they might. There can be no right or wrong answer. I can throw my voice in my written word, like a ventriloquist, into various bodies of situation. Writing has a cathartic effect. Words donít fail me.

I am never at a loss of words. I am free on a page to voice my opinion. My words are real. I found my place in the letters to the editor pages. Itís my corner of the writing world. I have a foray of newspapers to choose from. I have success in being printed in all the newspapers. Whatís black and white and read all over — me.

My words are being heard. After a letter or essay is published, I can see my next letter being written. I continue to write. Look for me in the letters to the editor pages.

Sincerely, Susan

Only Writers Get It

Words donít fail me
On my paper journey
As a writer to be heard
By noun, prefix or verb
With words I find
Speaking my mind
I am never at a loss
Of words to toss
Letter, essay or story
I am in my glory
Spinning words around
With the written word
Wrong or right
I continue to write
Itís all about me
My writing legacy

Sincerely, Susan
