IT’S CHRISTMAS ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE

LOVE ME, LAURA

IT’S CHRISTMAS ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE

With a wreath on the door
And a light for a stranger
It’s Christmas all through the house

With a star on the tree
And a babe in the manger
It’s Christmas all through the house

I can see the candles glowing
Hear the carols in the air
Out in the night it’s gently snowing to say—
It’s Christmas everywhere!

With hope in our hearts
And a love for our neighbor
It’s Christmas all through the house

I can hear the angels singing
And they promise peace on earth
Their song divine to us comes
Bringing the story of His holy birth

With a prayer on our lips
And a song as we labor
It’s Christmas all through the house

SUSAN

I met my Susan one sunny day
A sunny day in the month of May
I walked with her along the way

Days and nights went passing by
Until that day on the lst of July
When Susan answered with a sigh

“Oh yes, oh yes, I will marry you
Forever after I will be true
Oh yes, oh yes, I love you, too.”

We’re in love for eternity
My Susan and me

A WRITER

My paper waits
My hand is set
I look around
A lot to get

The rules are clear
To have it sold
Your plot must live
Your plot must hold

I sit and wait
And wait and stare
This writing urge
I’ve got to share

I wish I knew
An easy way
To write the things
I want to say

Of this I’m sure
With all my might
I’m certain that
One day I’ll write

LOVE ME, LAURA

Love me, Laura, like I love you
Treat me tender, the way you do
Kiss no other, no matter who
Love me, Laura and please be true

My life is yours dear, for you to take
My heart is yours dear, for you to break
Don’t ever leave me, my heart would ache
Love me, Laura for goodness sake

One day we’ll marry, one day you’ll see
We’ll settle down with a family
A cozy cottage, a backyard tree
Love me, Laura, oh please love me
